How does one change child support order?

More details to this question:
Judge ordered child support to ex for 18-year-old daughter as long as sheโ€™s in school. Found out she is not.

Then he can get an order to stop paying. She is an adult for purposes of child support.

You would file a Request to modify the child support order promptly. If you also file an application to determine arrears at some point, you would argue that the time the support stopped running was the date the child left high school.

Well, if she isn't, then child support stops by its terms. You may need to file an affidavit stating that she is no longer in school. It wouldn't hurt to talk with a local attorney about the way to get child support services in on the loop.

You can bring a modification action or potentially just use a motion to suspend child support due to the circumstances. Visit with a lawyer to determine your best option.

You need to file a motion to modify or terminate child support based upon the Judge's previous order.

Most cases require a motion to modify child support. But support obligation is 19 or graduation from high school whichever occurs first.
