QUESTION

How does one change temporary custody?

Asked on Nov 13th, 2013 on Child Custody - New York
More details to this question:
My boyfriend’s parents took temporary custody of my son. My question is if we sign all of our rights to my parents will it change the custody order. His mom is not a person I want raising him and it was against my wishes. We didn’t sign it, she denies my whole family including me and boyfriend any rights to see him, so we thought if we gave rights to my parents maybe it would end her custody thing, if my parents have all our rights we will be able to be in his life a lot more. If we give my parents all of our rights to our son will it end his mother temporary custody?

See an attorney, this looks like a mess which will only get worse. Sign nothing without counsel.

You should petition the court for custody and get it worked out there.
