QUESTION

How does one serve divorce notice internationally?

Asked on Jan 26th, 2015 on Divorce - Illinois
More details to this question:
I'm trying to get a divorce. It was amicable at first and she was just going to sign. Now she is living in Australia and all I have is a PO Box address and she will no longer sign. If she were in another county or state it would be Sheriff or publication. How does it work for another country? Thank you!

If she refuses to give you an address and none of her family will cooperate and giver you a street address, you can not serve a post office box. You need to prepare an affidavit setting forth what effort you have made to try to locate her and ask the court to order alternative service.
