QUESTION

How long can my divorce be dragged out?

Asked on Jun 12th, 2013 on Divorce - Michigan
More details to this question:
I am in the midst of an uncontested divorce. I have a civil protection order in place for my husband. I filed for divorce 4 months ago, he was served and given 30 days to contest the divorce. He did not contest it. Our hearing was scheduled, and the day before he filed for continuance. I am sure it just to be spiteful. We have no children and absolutely no property to split. Not a car, nothing at all. How long can he keep this up? Can he just keep dragging it out? I'd like to move on with my life. Thank you for your time.
