If both parties are cooperative and in agreement, a divorce can typically be finalized in 2-3 months in Florida. However, if one party isn't cooperative or if both parties are not in agreement on everything, it can take a year or more. You should consult with an attorney who can best guide you through the process.

A divorce can be finalized as soon as both parties agree on how to settle all of their outstanding issues and both sign off on a Settlement Agreement memorializing the terms. Typically, this can take from 4 to 8 months or more, depending on the complexity of the issues and how difficult the case is to resolve.

Every case is different. Nebraska has a mandatory waiting period of 60 days from the date the Defendant is served with the Complaint or the voluntary appearance is filed. Even if the parties agree on everything, the fastest divorce in our state is 61 days. Some divorces can take a year or two if the issues are more complicated - property out of state, custody battles, the need for appraisals, etc. can extend the time. The communication of each party and his or her attorney and the attorneys' communication with each other are also factors.? Once you are divorced, under Nebraska law, you cannot marry anyone else anywhere in the world for six months after the date of your Decree.

If the parties are in agreement a divorce can be taken in as short as eight weeks. That will depend upon the courts calendar and whether or not all the forms are properly completed.

The minimum a divorce can take in Michigan is 60 days when there is no minor children involved and 6 months if there is minor children involved. Very easy cases with no issues and no assets or debts to split (or a prior agreement to split) can take pretty much the minimum period.
