How long does it take to finalize an uncontested divorce in NY state?

More details to this question:
Here are all of the details: I filed my uncontested divorce papers 3 months ago in Broome county but have not heard anything back from the court, despite having called &left the assigned judge's secretary several messages to see if they could tell me something. My ex &I agreed on everything, he signed the affidavit to waive the 40 day waiting period, we did not use a lawyer, had no property to distribute, already had custody, visitation &child support for our child set up through family court &had already been living separately for about 2 yrs prior to filing. Cause for divorce was several instances of domestic violence/cruel and inhuman treatment, for which he had been arrested. I filed as a "poor person", and personally escorted my ex to the clerk's office to have his papers notarized after I served them to him by regular mail, then I filed for the divorce. It took me 2yrs to get him to agree to sign off on the divorce, and I am very impatient to get it finalized.

There is nothing unusual about a three month wait - in some counties it's much more. However, moving on cruel/inhumane was not necessarily a great idea - and if there are errors in your papers that will delay the process for quite some time.
