Both parent's gross income is considered as well as how much time the child spends with each parent. If you have a current support order it is taken into consideration. You can look online for free child support calculators. They are not perfect but can give you an idea of what you may be required to pay.

support depends on how much time child spends with each parent, AND income of each parent. You can get hardship deduction for others for whom you pay support.

Child support is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: * Each parent's income; * Whether either parent pays or receives spousal maintenance; * Whether either child has other natural or adopted children in his/her custody; * Whether either parent is court-ordered to pay child support to a not-common child; * The age of the child; * The cost of the child's medical/dental/vision insurance; * The cost of the child care; * The cost of any education expenses (e.g. private school tuition); * The cost of any extraordinary expenses (e.g. if a child has special needs); * The parenting time schedule practiced by the parents. I recommend you contact an attorney who can perform some calculations for you to give you an idea of how the guidelines apply to your specific situation.

Generally the factors in child support are 1) your income2) your dependents (example other children you support)3) your income tax bracket and other expenses (including medical insurance) The amount you pay may be slightly dependent upon your ex's income. Another big determining factor is how many "overnights" you have with your children and how often you exercise custody. Michigan has a standard set calculation that takes into account the above factors.

There are several factors that go into child support. A few of them, not all, are gross income, child care expense / day care expense, health care expense, number of 'overnights' with each parent. It is important that you retain a professional to make your calculation for you so you will be able to know the answer to your question.

In Michigan it is determined by a formula which takes into account a number of factors, including the income of both parties, the number of overnights with each parent, as well as the number of children from the current and other relationships. You should consult with an attorney, we have a computer program which does the calculations.

In every state there are specific guidelines for computing child support. Generally, those guidelines involve a comparison of parental income in some fashion. There are other factors that may be relevant to increase or decrease what the guidelines require. You need to consult a lawyer or do some internet research about child support guidelines in your state.

Child support is determined by a computer program which considers the percentage of time the child is with each parent, the income and tax deductions of each parent and the duties of each parent to support other children. You can probably get a pretty good idea of what child support will be on the internet by searching for "california child support calculations".
