how often does a court go against a Guardian at litems recommendation to court on where child should live ? and why would it do so.?

.its been proven my child been emotionally abused by alcoholic step parent. When i witnessed twice myself i took child out of mothers home and he been in my primary care for 10 months now. evidence hearing now to show why he should stay w me during week and mother weekends like its been for 10 months per court temp order. previously joint legal / physical order from 2001.GAL appointed due to abuse issues and after completing his investigation has recommended custody remain same but child remain w me during week and mother weekends. Alcoholism / co dependency / mother in denial about abuse to our child. says wont happen again.
