QUESTION

How quickly can I get divorce

Asked on Apr 12th, 2020 on Divorce - Tennessee
More details to this question:
I have around 45k in cash assets and 100k in a property that I'm on the deed along with my husband and father in law. There's no kids, just some pets. I don't want more that 50%of anything but I would like to not pay any kind of alimony. My husband hasn't had a income since 2013. I've been the only support.

If you and your husband can reach a written agreement as to all issues, a court may grant a divorce as soon as 60 days after filing. If there are issues not agreed, including alimony, it will take much longer. Possibly a year or more. If you've financially supported husband since 2013, your case may be a case appropriate for alimony. Husband can waive that, but if he won't you will not have that agreement.
