How to get partial custody with less than 40%time?

More details to this question:
Currently serving in the military. I wanted to request custody for at least 45 days of the 3 month school break for my son. This is due to possible military move in which case the normal visitation schedule could not be followed. How could I word this request in my petition?

You did a pretty good job of phrasing the request. Actually drafting a decree in proper language is a bit more technical, of course -- the language has to be clear enough to be enforceable. But the courts will go to some length, normally, to assist you, both on general principles and because of the new legislation designed to assist military embers in custody cases.
