More details to this question:
I hired a lawyer for my child custody case, I paid him $950.00 from middle of October 2017 to January 2018. I have had repeatably e-mailed him for any information on my case. I had to ask him if he was still my lawyer, because I didn't hear from him for almost a month. (I had sent him e-mails during that time). He finally sent out the letter that we agreed upon to happen, I thought that I was going to approve the letter. He did not let me see the letter until after it was send to my ex wife's lawyer and her. My lawyer told her that the agreement I had was a good agreement and that I was making MOUNTAINS OUT OF MOLE HILLS. She then started using that statement against me. When my family read the letter they asked me "is he your lawyer or hers" . Nothing has happen since that time (it was sent in the beginning October), he has done nothing else. I let him go and asked for the $950.00 back and he is still not responding to me. I need to know what to do.

Jared,
First you need to get a new attorney to help you with your custody issues. That is the most important step to take. Your situation involves major factual and procedural issues. These are issues that we can discuss.
Second, as to the fees, to me that is secondary. You children are the most important issues. But, once you get a new attorney, then you can see about getting an accounting of your money, and if there are problems, we can work on those as well.
If you are interested in pursuing the matter further, I offer an initial 1/4 hour consultation without charge, and a 1/2 hour consultation for $50. If you want to set an appointment for the initial consultation, feel free to telephone, or email, my office; if you are outside of the Salt Lake area, we can handle all of this by phone.
Don't wait any longer, give a call and let's getting working to protect your children.

Here is the dirty truth: Family law is all about MONEY. I did not join the legal field for money, but to work with people like you who go through situations with attorneys like you did. I have to inform you that $950. is not coming back to you and you are better of working with another attorney. I usually travel from state to state on case by case bases. If its something I can do for you within your budget, I will be able to help you out. If you don't already have an attorney, I would love to be retained as your case manager for your child.
Please email me any documents you have on this case at help@smsattorneys.com and send me a text or call me to let me know if you would like to work with me at 212-387-8001
