More details to this question:
Hello, We contacted a laywer concerning an issue of the state placing children with a grandmother who has a history of agressive behavior towards the birthmother and had given him our concerns to see if he could do anything to assist with having the children removed from her care as she obtained them by providing inaccurate facts . The issue is that she is influencial down where she lives and we had given the lawyer all the information we had and he he said he would see what he could do called us asked more questions etc. Then came back and said that there was nothing he could do. Six months later he ends up representing the person we spoke to him about. It seems even though the grandmother hasbeen proven to lie in court because she knows people that nothing will be done and she will continue to abuse the system becaus she knows how to circumvent the law. But can the lawyer represent her after having provided consultation for us? Is that not a conflict of interes

If the attorney spoke with you and you had a reasonable understanding that the attorney was representing you, you may be right and a conflict of interest exists.
