the lawyer my daughter hired for her divorce has been asked to resign , is out of the country and her office says they have passed the msg to her. she is being as unresponsive now as she was when she was here. daughter has found another counsel she would like to hire but can't until #1 resigns.
The first attorney does not have to resign for the new attorney to take over. The new attorney simply needs to file a Notice of Substitution of Counsel. The old attorney will be removed from the case and the new attorney substituted in their place.
