My Rhode Island Lawyer caused multiple reasons for me to come to the board and file a complaint. The RI lawyer failed to file paperwork by a deadline. He did not provide skillful and competent representation. The lawyer breached the duty by acting carelessly , and he made multiple mistakes by causing injury/harm to my baby girl. This harm has caused multiple financial loss. There were many conflict of interest where it seemed he was befriending the opposing party since I lived in Florida. He was horrible with communicating and keeping me informed about the status of my case. He did not respond in a timely manner in regards to important information. This man threatened myself and my mother when consulting us on a matter regarding my baby girl. He threatened us that if we do not bring my baby to Rhode Island for a hearing that was supposed to be 6 hrs, two hrs per day, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday that the judge would take my daughter away and give her to DCYF. There was no court order
I regret the events that happened to you. How terrible. If you have not consulted with local counsel specializing in legal malpraactice, you may wish to do so at this time. If you have filed a complaint with the bar association in your state that will be most helpful.
Don't forget to consult new family lsw counsel to see if your situation can be rectified in court.
Best of luck in both matters.
