Asked on Oct 12th, 2016 on Child Custody - Massachusetts
More details to this question:
In MA Judge granted to extend the restraining order against my husband for domestic violence. I went into a domestic violence shelter that took me one and half hours away from friends and my job of five years sticking me and my three kids in the middle of no where with no support. My parents and brother who live in Washington DC wants me to move over there so i could get support. My question is can i move over there with family? I filed in early September in court divorce, full custody and child support still waiting on court date.

Dear Anonymous,    In order to move out of state you will need to request a removal. The Court takes into consideration whether or not there is a real advantage to allowing the removal and whether or not it is in the best interest of the children.
