Asked on Oct 10th, 2013 on Domestic Violence - Illinois
More details to this question:
My husband was in jail for a about 4 hrs because a guy told the cops that my husband punched him. They did have an a argument that night (that involved pushing each other) but was stopped by a common friend. about 15-20mins after their argument was stopped, a few other people confronted the same guy (I believe 1 girl and 2 guys), while me and my husband where all inside .A lot of people can testify that my husband was inside then. After that cops came and asked my husband to go with them, because there's a battery complaint against him. Please help.

If your husband is charged with a criminal offense, he should contact an experienced defense attorney to assist him. An attorney can help advise him of his alternatives and will know how to present witnesses and evidence should he go to trial.    This posting is for informational purposes only and should not be considered legal advice nor constitute the inception of an attorney-client relationship. Pushing also counts as battery. Your husband should read exactly how he is charged, and then decide whether he wants to hire an attorney or not.
