My son is under my custody; how can i change his last name to my last name?

Hello, I went to family court looking to change the name of my son to my last name and also to get full custody. I alreadt have the full custody and also the judge gave the permision to change my son last name. How or where can i go to start with this process? my son is 2 and half years old.

If you have the court order allowing you to change his name, start with Social Security. You will have to provide the court order allwoing the change. You should also talk to the registrar of vital statistics and see if there is a way to change the birth certificate as well. Good luck .
