Asked on Aug 27th, 2013 on Child Support - Florida
More details to this question:
I have ADD, and I need my medication every month. My father has payed for it the last 3-months, and at this money, he doesn't have enough money to purchase it. My mother has not payed for anything so far for me. I have only been supported by my father. Does my mother have to pay for the medication in this situation?

I am sorry that you are writing to make this inquiry.  Parents should not share their financial issues with their children.  I don't know if your parents have a court order (divorce, settlement agreement, final judgment regarding your care) that would answer this question.  Usually such a document says who pays for what and how much when it comes to children. Your dad should make this inquiry on his own behalf.  If he cannot afford your medication there are sometimes programs available to assist him.   I hope things improve for you soon.   Kind regards, Cindy S.
