QUESTION

Recalculating Child support

Asked on Apr 30th, 2021 on Child Support - California
More details to this question:
someone I know is married and has children with a man who has a child from a previous marriage. She makes a lot more money than he does and the ex wife is remarried herself and gets $900 a month but now since her ex's wife makes so much money she wants to take him and his wife to court and have the court recalculate the child support amount to include his wife's income. Is it likely that a judge will order the new wife to contribute to her husbands child support costs.

Generally, no.  However, the wife's income can be considered in certain ways such as a decrease in his expenses since she helps with expenses.
