I have been ordered to pay $991 monthly plus $150 for backpay. So total of $1141 a month. This was based off me making $33280 a year and living with my parents. I didn't have any real bills at the time as my cat was paid off. I now have a job paying 45593 a year and had to get anothet car and will soon be moving. I know they may increasr my payments becuasr I make more money now, but I also have more debt and bills to pay now. So is it worth trying tp go to court to get my payments reduced?
Child support is calculated based on your gross income minus allowable deductions (taxes, health insurance costs, mandatory retirement contributions, and mandatory union contributions), to arrive at your net income. Your expenses are NOT taken into account. Therefore, going back to court will not be advantageous to you. See below link to FL Child Support Statute.
