I have been with this guy for 5 years and I have been verbally and physically abuse In this relationship. I have been living with him for 3 years prior to being married. I have now decided to leave the marriage because of his family and I could not take it anymore. I have taken my 401K fund to put into this marriage, I have purchased furniture and other essentials for the house most of the things a woman would buy for the home I have purchased. He still have the papers and has not served me with the papers I am ready to move on, he has other woman and yet his mother is still living in the house, my name has been put on the house for something not sure what it is. I want to end this marriage and move what do I get from this marriage.
I do not know what "papers" your husband has, but unless he's been served with a petition, the proceedings have not really started. You need to have a process server or sheriff bring him the papers. Perhaps court intake can assist. If he has filed and not served you, typically you can look up the case on line and then answer without being served. You can also ask the court to go to mediation to hopefully come to an amicable resolution of your case. It is a bit too complicated to explain each aspect of moving the case forward once you are served or voluntarily answer the petition, but again you may get assistance fro legal aid or the clerk of the court.
