QUESTION

What can be done about false information on a custody document?

Asked on Dec 02nd, 2014 on Child Custody - Illinois
More details to this question:
My sister's ex-husband has filed papers because she has moved. His number one reason for doing so, listed on the papers, is that she moved without telling him. She has proof that she not only told him, but did so with double the advanced notice. Is there a technicality that could help or if she is just screwed because she can’t afford a lawyer? She just got done winning sole custody of other children from a different dad. Thanks.

If you mean moved out of state, she had no right to do so. Simply giving her ex notice is not sufficient. She needed a court order or his written consent.
