What can I do about this offensive touching case?

Last Thursday me and my father got into not an actual argument but he basically asked me to be quiet many times and I kept talking and being disrespectful and being quite rude so after he asked me many times to stop I did not and he was on the phone too talking to someone and then I continued to be rude and he hit me and told me to be quiet out of anger I called the cops I was so mad and frustrated I called the cops but I really had no reason to, I made the situation look worse hten it was...so now my father is being charged with offensive touching.
