QUESTION

What forms do I need to transfer a 4 year custody case to another county?

Asked on Sep 23rd, 2016 on Child Custody - California
More details to this question:
My brother and his ex-girlfriend have a custody case (50/50) but they both live in another county. How can my brother transfer the case to where he is because his ex-gf took off with their daughter last night? We’ve contacted both courts and we’re getting conflicting directions and no help.

First, you should be able to still request a custody order in the existing court case. If the parent has fled with the child then you can go to court and request an emergency order for custody and for the child to be returned to you. All requests for orders are done using form FL-300 and any relevant attachments.
