In a default prove up, the hearing is very much like a trial. You must have your witnesses and evidence to prove the orders that you are requesting. You will have to prove the assets and debts, and any reimbursement, support and custody orders that may be applicable.

If the court has requested a hearing then you must be prepared to prove what are the assets and their value and how you wish to divide them up along with how support should be determined if that has not already been done. You should consult a family law attorney to review all of your paperwork and assist you in preparing for the hearing.

You need to have all of your papers ready and be ready to testify about the jurisdictional facts and the property division if the judge has questions.
