Asked on Sep 05th, 2018 on Adoptions - Tennessee
More details to this question:
In 2003 I had a child that the father and I had agreed to put up for adoption. We both gave up parental rights in lieu of the adoption. Turned out the fathers sister adopted the child. Now...the childs father has a relationship with him but I have not been offered any type of contact.....can I ask for time as well?

When you gave up your parental rights, you gave up your right to have a relationship with the child. The court will not force the child to have a relationship with you. If you want to reach out to the child's mother and ask her if you can have a relationship, that is up to her. However, the court will not force her to do that.
