What will happen for this DV case

SA (2)M2, 1 count of harassment, VICTIM stated: VICTIM and DEFENDANT were having an argument about money issues the VICTIM admitted picking up a dvd case to throw at DEFENDANT and the DEFENDANT reacted by tackling VICTIM to the ground, they wrestled on the ground for short period of time. The VICTIM stated that the altercation was mutual, they both got up and the DEFENDANT went to get a shower, after 15 mins the DEFENDANT continued to argue , they were in close proximity. VICTIM stated that DEFENDANT "popped" VICTIM in the face causing them to bite down on lip resulting in lip to bleed, the VICTIM stated that they thought it was an open palm strike , but could not remember. The VICTIMS glasses were already broken at the ridge. First offence SA, second offence with a harassment with different person 2015 - 5 years ago

Its very hard to answer this sort of question because most a swers are county specific.  Talk to a local attorney and they can tell you how the police and prosecutors usually handle these types of cases.  In many if the counties I operate with some counselling and usually Community Service we can get the charges reduced.  Some counties require a more structured domestivmc violence program.
