What would be the hold up?

More details to this question:
A person was served divorce papers in May of 2012 and haven't heard anything.

If that person did not file a response within 30 days, you have to file a request to enter their defautt in order to move the case forward. go to the courthouse to see what the status is on the file. good luck

If they haven't responded, you can file for a default to move the case along.

You need to follow up. The court doesn't do anything itself to finalize the process. Contact a local family law attorney for assistance.
