when can i file for alimony ?

Me and my husband have been separated since may 9, 2012 and have been married for 4yrs this July. He walked out on me and my son as well.

You can file for alimony and post-separation support at any time after you separate, so long as you do it before the divorce is entered.  At this point in your separation you can also file for child custody and support, as well as equitable distribution. Good luck!
