QUESTION

Which party can request the trial date?

Asked on Aug 23rd, 2013 on Family Law - California
More details to this question:
After the statements of assets&debts, and income/expenses have been exchanged, and all documents have been exchanged as part of the discovery period, and the parties are still apart for an amicable settlement (no children, just property), who (I am the respondent) has the right/option to request the date for the Trial? I want the clock to start ticking.

Either party can request the trial date by filing an "At Issue" memorandum.  Check with the court clerk in your county as there may be different procedures in different counties.
