I was married in Texas. I no longer live there but my wife still does. How would I go about getting a divorce from her? I now live in Kansas.

Depending on how long you've lived in Kansas, you could file there, but unless your wife has substantial connections to Kansas you'll have to file in Texas to get involuntary jurisdiction over her. Without much more information I'd recommend Texas as less problematic. Good luck.

If you are a resident of Kansas and have been for the time required by the State of Kansas, you can file there. You can also file in the state where your wife is a resident.

The party filing can file where he or she resides, or where the other party resides. There is no need to file where the marriage occurred if neither party resides there any longer.
