QUESTION

Asked on Jan 19th, 2022 on Family Law - South Carolina
More details to this question:
My daughter took my granddaughter to mecloude hospital in Florence SC because the baby was crying. They told her that she had a hairline fracture in her arm. Longstreet SC DSS asked her if she had somewhere safe to stay to get away from her boyfriend. Now they are accusing her of knowing he fracture my granddaughters arm and now they don't want her to let her take her kids anywhere. I need to know what can be done to get her kids. They have no proof that she abused her kids.

The Department of Social Services not only intervenes when a parent has abused or neglected their child but also in situations where a parent has placed a child threat of harm for abuse or neglect.  If they have concern that a parent knew, or should have known that an environment or individuals have the propensity to cause abuse or neglect of a child, the parent can be subject to DSS actions, findings, removal of children from home, or intervention for delivery of services.
