Will a notarized contract between spouses be a legal document?

I am seeking to be legally separated from husband. I want to come to an agreement with him that will be legally binding.

An agreement would only become truly effective when and if it is incorporated into a court's judgment, which would have included a court's approval of the agreement you may reach.
