QUESTION

Adding to LLC without my permission or knowledge

Asked on Aug 11th, 2021 on General Practice - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
I was added as a general partner to my soon-to-be ex-husband's LLC without my permission or knowledge as I filed for divorce in Pennslyvania. I have never been associated with any of his businesses and we even have a prenup stating that. I found out as I got a notice from IRS that I am liable for 300k in taxes on his LLC. I have sent him a cease and desist letter and he is not responding. What should be my next steps?

If the LLC is a sole member, and you filed joint tax returns, the issue may not be that he made you a member, which may or may not be the case, but liability on a 1040.  To better advise you, please call or email on a free initial basis.
