There is a 7-year old news article on the internet about an unfortunate incident I had which still comes up on google searches for my name and is negatively affecting my chances of getting a new job. Also, my friends, relatives, co-workers and anyone else I know are able to find it. This article appears on page 1 for google searches for my name. I contacted the news company that published it and they refuse to remove it. There is nothing untrue about the article which means I cannot sue for defamation of character? Do I have any legal recourse with this? I understand the freedom of the press, but I believe there are some ethical and moral concerns with this. I'm not sure what legal topic this would fall under. Please help. Thank you.
you cannot have the news article removed. you can supplement or explain the news article so that the bad news is explained or mitigated. ed dimon, esq.
