QUESTION

Do I qualify for any type of Veteran Benefits

Asked on Jul 11th, 2017 on General Practice - Tennessee
More details to this question:
I received an Entry Level Separation from the USMC in 2002 for failure to adapt. However while I was in Recruit training, I got sick a lot and even hurt my back. Since that time my back has continued to get worse. I have my complete medical records from that time that shows it. My initial application for benefits was denied due to my lack of time in active duty. Now my brother, who is a 17 year medically retired Army Veteran, seems to think that I should get some kind of help. Is this true? Can I get help for this from the VA? Please don't think less of me, I'm not trying to take away from any veteran that did his or her time. I just feel that I was done wrong.
