QUESTION

I have schizophrenia and can't work, can I get alimony?

More details to this question:
My husband cheated on me while I was going through chemo. He was abusive both mentally and physically the entire 25 years we were together. This is documented. He didn't allow me to have friends and I don't have any family so I don't have much help. I did have a 250k settlement from a car accident when I was a child but he took it. Everything but the car I got after I forced him to leave is in his name, the property, the house all the other cars, his checking/savings/401k. I only have the 250 a week he allows me to have but he does pay the electric and phone bill. I asked for 350 so I could pay my own bills but he said no. He wants me to get on disability so he doesn't have to pay me any more money but disability only gives 845 a month and thats less than I'm getting now so I don't know how I'm supposed to pay bills and survive on that. I am schizophrenic and have OCD, severe complex PTSD, major depression and major anxiety and insomnia and a 4th grade education.
