QUESTION

I need assitance in reinstating my disabled son's military medical benefits.

More details to this question:
I am a retired Air Force officer. I have a 29 year old son (he will be 30 in October) that was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 10 years. He retained a military ID and used military medical facilities up until the age of 23 or 24 or there about. At that point the military removed all of his military privileges and benefits. I have recently learned of persons that incurred a disability while they were military dependents and were allowed to retain their military medical benefits indefinitely. My son's diabetes is disabling in that it prohibits or limits his performing many income-producing functions including joining the military. Does my son's type 1 diabetes qualify him for retention of his military benefits and if so, how do I go about having his military benefits reinstated. I would greatly appreciate your help in this matter, or you referring me to persons who may help.

i would work closely with the VA so that you are not spending legal fees. after you had exhausted your efforts with the VA, then you would speak with an attorney. having said that, we would do the work for you but there would be legal fees. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235
