QUESTION

Is there anything I can do about my dentist messing up my tooth?

Asked on Oct 08th, 2014 on General Practice - Texas
More details to this question:
I went for a root canal and the dentist broke two prongs in my tooth. He said he couldn't get them out or continue. I needed to see a specialist and they would make me an appointment. They forgot about it, forgot who I was, when I did get an appointment it was weeks later and I was in pain the whole time. They did give me pain meds. But it took 1500 to pay the specialist plus all the money I get from the insurance and they still couldn't fix it. Now they want to leave them in or remove the tooth but my insurance won't cover anymore. Is there anything I can do.

If your problems were caused by the dentist's failure to live up to professional standards, you can sue him/her for malpractice.  Your suit would seek all monetary damages caused by the screw up, plus compensation for your pain and suffering.
