QUESTION

is this illegal to do?

More details to this question:
As of two days ago a video game company stated it will be removing a feature of the game that was promised to us at release and is still advertised on the box, they are even still selling items useful for the content to be removed. My question is if this went against any laws by tampering with what we were promised and paid for? Or is this just false advertisement?

This is not illegal and, in fact, if you real the terms of the license to the game and online terms, there is no such right to sue unfortunately.
