More details to this question:
I was speaking with a rep at my car loan company and I informed her I would have my payment to them on fri. Please keep in mind my payment is late. I've been struggling to get by but I intend on paying them. Before I got off the phone this rep began to tell me to sell things to pay my bills one of which was my body I was shocked by this. Is this ok behavior for a car company to say something like this?

Practices like this are what gives collection agencies a bad name. There is nothing illegal per se about this comment; however it is highly offensive.
