QUESTION

Money from an Ex

Asked on Jul 24th, 2018 on General Practice - Texas
More details to this question:
The last place I worked before I left my ex-husband sent me my vested funds after I had left the state. My Ex-husband deposited the check for $5017.00. And spent it. He did not tell me about these monies. I found out through social security. I tried to talk to him and he won’t see me or talk to me over the phone. He told me to get a lawyer and my lawyer could talk to his lawyer.

Your divorce decree may control how the money should have been distributed. If it does, you could file a motion to enforce to get a judgment for your share of the funds. You certainly should get an attorney because it appears that your ex will not do the right thing.
