QUESTION

My Ex hacked into my email. Aside from changing my password, what can be done?

Asked on Mar 03rd, 2014 on General Practice - Alabama
More details to this question:
An ex, with whom I have not had any contact for 3 months, hacked into both my Facebook account and gmail. I know that it's him because gmail tracked the IP address he used, and I used an online tracker to discover the name of the service provider and location. He removed himself from my blocked contact list from Facebook, and when I tried to reblock him, the page said I must wait 48-hours. This proves his identity. He deleted all of my Facebook friends, messages, and pictures are gone, and all of my sent emails from my gmail are missing too. I have never given him or anyone my passwords for either accounts. He hacked into my mobile device using his wi-fi. I contacted the service provider & changed passwords. This isn't the first time he has hacked, either. Some of his ex girlfriends said he's hacked their accounts. Any advice please? I do not feel safe knowing this predator has private information, and I do not wish to seek contact.

Most states have criminal statutes prohibiting the type of hacking you describe.  Go to the police.
