QUESTION

Property damage

Asked on Aug 01st, 2017 on General Practice - New York
More details to this question:
How do I proceed. A paving company, with whom I signed a contract, damaged my house siding while digging. I didn't notice until the next day. They only laid a stone base on my driveway, saying they would return in three days to pave after the base settled. That was five days ago. The owners have not returned calls. The secretary said one of the owners told her he stopped by my house and saw the base was still too soft. We never saw him stop by. Fortunately I have not given them any money. I want to get the damage to my house repaired and get my driveway paved, but I doubt they are ever going to do either. What do I do next?

If you have an estimate of the damages you can sue them.  Sounds like it will be in the small claims level.
