Hi, I purchased an Audi from the dealer in the beginning of November 2016, and received my license plates with a temporary registration paper. A week before the temporary registration expired, I physically went to the DMV where I was told that the car dealership didn't submit any info about the car, and I should contact the dealership. And so I did. Many emails later, all I got were premises that the issue will be resolved. As of now, it is more than a month since the temporary registration expired and still nothing is happening. This issue is very frustrating and scary since there are heavy penalties for driving without registration. Not to mention that my driving license can be revoked as well. In addition, on Wed. Jan 4 2017, I received a letter from my car insurance, where they trying to submit proof of insurance to the DMV, but it was not accepted since the car is not registered. At that point I don't know what to do. If my insurance fee changes, fines from the DMV or the police and if my license to be revoked... who would pay for all of this and fix my records? Do I need to have a lawyer get involved at that point? And which lawyer can handle this type of cases? Sincerely, Eric hod
If you have the title you can register the car. If you do not have the title, then you may have been scammed. Call the DA in your county and speak to the consumer fraud division.
