QUESTION

Verizon Wireless Bill Dispute after xferring to AT&T

Asked on Sep 13th, 2016 on General Practice - Tennessee
More details to this question:
I left Verizon Wireless in Sept. of 2015 because of poor service and fluctuating bills. The AT&T tech that performed the transfer, neglected to port the numbers of our 2 tablets after we purchased ALL new devices at AT&T. Two months ago I received a bill from Verizon for over $700. After talking with Verizon (Management at the Turkey Creek office), he informed me about the 2 lines. I am not a tech and would not know to check for this issue. It was apparent that the lines were never used after the transfer since we discarded the Verizon Tablets and purchased AT&T tablets. Also, why was I not informed 1 month after the transfer instead of waiting until July pf 2016 to send me a bill? Do I have any Legal recourse in this matter?

1 ANSWER

Your only recourse is to not pay the bill. If you ask "will it go on my credit if I don't pay them?" . The answer is yes it will go on your credit. If keeping a clean credit history is more important than paying the $700, then pay them and keep if off of your credit history.
