I'm an asylum applicant and my case has been pending for 5 years so I was using a dating site to see if people will be down to get married mainly for me to get the Green Card. My account on the site was suspended and they sent me an email saying they have the right to inform the authorities. I did talk to a couple of people on the site trying to see what kind of arrangement they will be down to have. I didn't talk to them after that at all I was doing it out of curiosity. I'm concerned though that this might be an issue with the immigration if It got reported. Is this a violation of the law knowing that I didn't proceed with anything and it was just talking?
Anybody in the United States getting a green card through marriage fraudulently will be reported to the FBI and will be arrested for a felony and then be deported.
