I met my girlfriend online. We have been talking about marriage a lot recently. She lives in China and we want to see each other but currently, outbound travel is heavily restricted and have no common countries in which to visit each other. Having very few options, we talked about her coming to school here for a 2 month course in language school (she does have a genuine interest in bettering her English speaking skills). She would be staying with me during this time. I told her if we did this, her stay would only be temporary and she would have to go back home before we started an I-129F petition. We would be purchasing non-refundable round trip tickets. I also suggested she bring a copy of her apartment contract and her certificate of property ownership. Since the I-129F petition requires us to have met in person before filing, I was wondering if meeting in this manner would jeopardize our chances of staying together later down the line should we get engaged and stay married.
