Hi, I am a J1 visa holder and I'm getting married on March 20, 2020. My J1 visa will expire on August 8, 2020.

I work in San Francisco and my fiance lives in Fairfeild. I need to quit my job and move in with him in Fairfeild after I get married. My question is, after I get married, can I still find a job and work in Fairfeild? Also, I need to process my papers after I get married to work here legally. We need to get a lawyer and how much it costs? Thank you.

Counsel anywhere in the USA can represent you. Some of us charge a very affordable flat fee. Do you have the type of J visa that has a 2 year restriction that requires you to return home? If so, this could be a problem.
