QUESTION

Am I eligible for CPT after OPT?

Asked on Apr 09th, 2013 on Immigration - New Jersey
More details to this question:
I graduated from a United States University back in May 2012. Currently, I am holding an Employment Authorization Document Optional Practical Training which will expire in few months. Can I apply for Curricular Practical Training after Optional Practical Training? My employer didn't file my H1B this year. I can't extend my Optional Practical training period. I want to continue working with this employer.

You will want to speak directly to your ISO about this. Your ISO is responsible for making these decisions and for guiding you accordingly.

IF you have already used up all of your OPT, you cannot qualify for CPT.
